All about
MONASH

Setting boundaries does not always come easily though, the Monash precinct is generally bounded by the following suburbs:
1.  Mt Waverley
2.  Huntingdale & Oakleigh
3.  Clayton
4.  Mulgrave
5.  Clayton South
6.  Springvale

With these suburbs of Boundary 1 overlapping three of the local government areas (LGA) including:

 1.  City of Monash,

 2.  City of Greater Dandenong, and

 3.  City of Kingston,

the area of City of Monash overlaps most of these suburbs. Thus, in some cases, it would also be useful to look at the data on this particular Local Government Area.

Based on Census 2016, we found that the most common occupations in City of Monash are professionals, clerical workers, and managers. In fact, managers, professionals, community and personal service workers rounded out the LGA’s top three jobs on the rise over the past five years. On the other hand, technicians, clerical workers, and drivers are the top three jobs in decline from 2011 to 2016.

Business (Management and Commerce) remained the most popular field of study in Monash and also across Australia, ahead of Engineering and Related Technologies. This is a rather unsurprising result, as we are seeing an era of unprecedented change in the way we work. According to World Economic Forum, rapid advancements in the fields of technology, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning will dramatically change the characteristics of the global workforce.

The number of leaders and participation in the workplace is just one of the factors contributing to the gender equality gap. Trying to close the gap, our precinct parters have been working hard to build a safe and welcoming culture where people can bring their whole selves to work.
